Corporate social responsibility is fused with the proactive spirit of our firm to encourage the development of a stronger and prosperous community that promotes values such as diversity, human rights and solidarity.
As a result of Mr. Cedeño’s gratitude to the United States for welcoming him and providing political asylum, Cedel, since its inception in 2009, has been very active in supporting public education, health and security initiatives in Florida. Cedel is proud of its long-standing partnerships with Miami Dade College, the United Way of Miami-Dade, the Miami-Dade Police Benevolent Association, and the Florida Police Athletic League. Mr. Cedeño personally participates with the Miami-Dade Mayor’s Office each Christmas, donating toys to needy children.
To aid political prisoners who are suffering persecution, similar to Mr. Cedeño’s experience in Venezuela, Cedel has partnered with numerous human rights organizations to take a strong stance in the issue. These partnerships include Harvard University’s Human Rights Center, The Americas Liberty Forum, Liberanlos Ya!, the Venezuelan Awareness Foundation, The Venevox Foundation Inc., and UN Watch. Mr. Cedeño has personally addressed the United Nations in Geneva and New York City to discuss the need to protect human rights around the world.
